Tohoku Women’s Hurdling Project

Tohoku Women's Hurdling ProjectThe Tohoku Women’s Hurdling Project provides support and reforms systems to help women researchers balance their research and their life, and manage newborn children, parenting and elderly care responsibilities. In order to enable them to secure time to concentrate on research, we accept requests to dispatch supporting staff as well as their applications for baby-sitter subsidies. We are also extending their tenure as they work shorter hours or take maternity leave, and reforming performance evaluation systems, allowing women researchers to use available systems without stress so as to improve the environment for them to demonstrate their abilities to the fullest extent.
